Amber Fredrick (she/her) is a 4th-year doctoral practicum student at ReachingHOPE. Amber is a Clinical Psychology PhD student at the University of Denver's College for Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences working in the Traumatic Stress Studies Group. She holds a master's degree in Prevention Science from the University of Oregon and a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. Her research focuses on perceptions of care from survivors of gender-based violence, and how to make services more survivor-centered and trauma informed. Prior to ReachingHOPE, Amber worked in non-profits settings with survivors of violence, and has experience in neuropsychological and comprehensive assessments, as well as therapy. Her background includes working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. She enjoys using modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Amber uses a person-centered and evidence-based approach to working with clients; utilizing flexibility within fidelity to meet clients where they are. In her free time, Amber is often reading, making crafts like embroidery and crochet, and baking for her loved ones.
